Students today are the problem solvers, scientists, artists, and leaders of tomorrow. We want to support them with nutritious snacks, fresh groceries, and awards to encourage their aspirations and potential.
Rahima Foundation has partnered with high schools to provide snacks for children who seek extra tutoring after school. We also support any parents of students in East Palo Alto with grocery supplements, should they require it.
We also serve snacks to toddlers in partnership with three preschools in Livermore. In 2018, we initiated multiple partnerships with Title One Schools to fill the nutrition gap where we can.
STUDENT COMPASSION AWARDS
Rahima Foundation offers certificates and financial awards to students who go above and beyond to show compassion, empathy and community service skills.
Our criteria for the selection of Student Award recipients:
"The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane. And these qualities have little to do with success as we have defined it."
-David W. Orr, Ecological Literacy: Educating our Children for a Sustainable World
Rahima Foundation has an active drive to collect backpacks for students who are unable to afford school supplies. We are helping local refugee and immigrant students, as well as a large refugee population in Sacramento. Please donate school supplies through Amazon Smile. We request that you order neutral colors like red, black, tan, and grey.
