Rahima Foundation has been collecting and distributing meat in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 20 years.
We receive donated meat for Qurbani / Udhiya for distribution every year.
We have a list of several local halal meat butchers with whom you may arrange for slaughter and meat packaging of an animal of your choice. We also have certain requirements and guidelines for you to follow.
Please see the attached information for this year’s meat collection guidelines.
We currently have 8 freezers in our warehouse with a total capacity of over 170cf. This capacity can handle over 10,000 lbs of meat, assuming the meat is cut and packaged according to our guidelines.
Meat is distributed as available, per our food distribution calendar, to ~400 families living in the area.
Clients are very appreciative of the meat they receive, since it is one of the most expensive food items on their grocery list.
Alhumdulillah, in 2015 we collected and distributed about 9,000 lbs of meat to the deserving families.
We receive and distribute meat for Aqiqa, Sadaqa, or any other occasion when community members would like to donate meat for the deserving families.
We also have certain requirements and guidelines for you to follow:
– The meat must be cut in stew sizes and packaged in 2-3 pound bags which are sealed well.
(We recommend Ziploc bags).
– Please note that we do not accept the tongue, head, or hoof/foot of the slaughtered animal.
May Allah SWT reward in abundance all the donors who generously donated meat to help the local families in the Bay Area.
