Rahima Foundation was established to serve the needy, the less fortunate
and those requiring assistance. Rahima's goal is to take care of their immediate needs
and then help them get back on their feet and become productive members of society.
Rahima Foundation is a SJ-Oakland-SF based non-profit, non-political, 501 (c) (3)
charitable and educational organization (Tax ID # 77-0442850) that does not discriminate in
its provision of services on the basis of race, color, religious affiliation, sex, sexual orientation,
age, disability, physical appearance, national origin, language, educational background or veteran status.
No funds are used for any lobbying or other political activity. Rahima Foundation further certifies that exposure
or adherence to the organization's religious doctrine is not required of the program's beneficiaries.
Rahima Foundation partners with other local mainstream charities in the service of our local Bay area community.
Rahima
Foundation was conceived in February
1993 as an inspiration in the
heart of Habibe Husain, a visionary
woman and long term resident of
the Silicon Valley, who saw in
her community a need for extending
a helping hand to less fortunate
people around her. She began encouraging
her friends to bring non-perishable
food items to her house and started
distributing them to the needy.
Consequently, she incorporated
Rahima Foundation as a non-profit,
charitable and educational organization
and furthermore worked towards
obtaining its tax-exempt status.
She is indeed an inspiration to
women and men community around the world
that one visionary person with
help from people who share in
that vision can make a difference.

| Rahima
Foundation is a grass-roots, community
based organization that has come
a long way with humble private
donations from individual supporters
who believe in our work. It began
in the carport of the home of
Habibe Husain, then moved to her
garage, then to a small donated
space in our community center
and has finally moved into its
own rented office facility in
Santa Clara. This new office/storage
allows us to operate with much
greater efficiency. |
